What Does Vendor Participation Look Like?
As a participating vendor, your business becomes a destination in the event. Customers following the treasure hunt have a reason to visit your location, engage with your staff, and experience what you offer.
Participation is structured to be straightforward for your team. Clear instructions, defined requirements, and vendor-facing tools are part of the platform design.
How It Works for Vendors
Make your business part of the Treasure Hunts USA experience. Here is how participation works.
Apply for Your City's Event
Click "Vendor Registration," choose your city and event, and submit your business application for review. Use the existing Treasure Hunts USA application—not a general contact form. Submitting an application does not by itself confirm your participation.
Agree on Your Participation Details
Choose your proposed qualifying purchase minimum or visit activity, subject to event approval. Confirm your participating hours, complete the vendor agreement, and accept the proposed event dates.
No payment is due at signing. Payment becomes due after you receive both the written event confirmation and the payment request, according to your agreement.
Your approved business listing will show hunters where you are, when to visit, and the requirement for earning a clue. Prepare your authorized staff to verify visits and use the vendor app.
Give Hunters Another Reason to Choose Your Business
Your business may offer hunters an optional discount, complimentary sample, small gift or upgrade. Clearly describe the offer and any conditions. These incentives are separate from your approved purchase or visit requirement. They do not provide additional clues. How to Add Your Discount, Gift or Special Offer When completing your business application, describe your qualifying requirement in the field labeled “Eligible products or exact required activity.” Below your requirement, add a separate line beginning “Optional hunter offer:” Describe your discount, sample, gift or upgrade and any conditions. Example: Qualifying requirement: Purchase at least $25 in eligible bakery products. Optional hunter offer: Receive a complimentary cookie with your qualifying purchase, while supplies last. The host reviews these details before publication. Keep your optional offer clearly separate from the requirement for earning a clue. Incentives do not provide additional clues.
Welcome Hunters and Issue Personal Codes
Hunters choose which participating businesses to visit. During the two-week event, a hunter who selects your business visits your location and meets your published purchase or activity requirement.
Your staff verifies the hunter and the published requirement, records the visit and purchase information, and uses the app to issue that hunter a unique personal code.
Each hunter unlocks one personal clue after a qualifying visit to a different participating business. The hunter enters the code in their own app to reveal a private clue. Staff does not see or hand out the actual clue. Personal codes and clues are not displayed in the public business listing.
Review Activity and Build Customer Relationships
Use your vendor tools to review recorded qualifying visits and eligible purchase amounts.
Review recorded qualifying visits, the published purchase minimums, actual eligible purchase amounts and recorded refunds. These records help you evaluate participation and plan future events.
Welcome these visitors, introduce what your business offers, and give them a reason to return. The event creates an opportunity to develop customer relationships; visitor numbers, sales, repeat business, and profit are not guaranteed.
